Adsorption dehumidifier clears Agristo’s freezer room of snow and ice
This is according to Kris van de Rijt, director of Air In Motion. For many years his company develops solutions in the field of preventing cold loss in cold stores and freezer rooms. For potato processor Agristo from Tilburg in the Netherlands, Air In Motion developed an automated solution with an adsorption dehumidifier, which lets disappear the mountains of snow and ice in the cold freezer room like snow in the summer. A common problem in freezer rooms is the formation of snow and ice around the opening, and often even meters away inside the freezer room. The snow and ice not only cause a higher energy consumption for the refrigeration system, but are also dangerous for people and vehicles due to the surprising slipperiness.
Due to market demand, Air In Motion has in recent years specialised itself in the field of realisation moisture and temperature separations in doorways to freezer rooms. Especially for automated pallet passages, Air In Motion has developed a new concept with an adsorption dryer. Frequent problems with snow and ice are definitively resolved through this new concept with an adsorption dehumidifier. In addition, also the technical department of Agristo is very pleased with the solution of Air In Motion. Besides preventing snow and ice in the freezer room, the annoying technical failures in automatic sensors of (lock)doors belong to the past now.
In the vision of Van de Rijt, the chipping of ice, and frequent defrosting of evaporators belong now to the past. In the meanwhile the solutions of Air in Motion have been implemented in various countries worldwide.
Adsorption dehumidifier and its advantages:
- A passage to the freezing room free of snow and ice
- No more technical failures in sensors of automatic doors
- No more dangerous situations by slippery floors in the freezer room
- Considerable savings on energy because of less frequent defrosting evaporators
