Air In Motion supports Beyond Meat in the development of meat substitutes
Various hygroscopically processed foods are used in the development of meat substitutes. The processing of these hygroscopic agents requires extremely low humidity. Air In Motion takes care of this in critical mixing areas at Beyond Meat in Enschede.
Description of operation of the Beyond Meat dehumidifier
When processing hygroscopic foodstuffs, it is important to limit the relative humidity. Without regulation of the relative humidity, it would rise to 80% relative humidity, depending on the outside climate.
Depending on the type of product being processed, the relative humidity must be adjusted. Beyond Meat's goal was to limit humidity to a maximum of 30%. This amounts to a dew point temperature of approximately 0ºC. To guarantee such low humidity, Beyond Meat called in Air In Motion for help.
Using the energy-efficient AFIM Dry 3500-R dehumidifier, Air In Motion achieves a relative humidity that is far below the limit value of 30%. Within just 30 minutes after starting up the energy-efficient AFIM Dry 3500-R dehumidifier, a relative humidity of only 17% was measured. This is almost 50 percent lower than the target of a maximum of 30% relative humidity.
The energy-efficient AFIM Dry 3500-R dehumidifier is also equipped with special filters that meet the strictest safety requirements for food production environments:
- in accordance with the health and safety requirements of Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004,
