A dehumidifier regulates the humidity level in a freezer room: AFIM® Dehumidifying
Function of the Agristo freezer room humidity regulator
In order to prevent snow, mist and ice from forming, the Belgian company Agristo has opted to install an effective method of dehumidifying in its complex in Tilburg which was specially designed for use in cold storage. This dehumidifying-based solution was delivered and installed by the company Air In Motion. Due to the unique workings of the drying installation (by AFIM® Dehumidifying), the formation of mist, snow and ice is maximally reduced. Furthermore, maintenance and repair costs are cut considerably. Energy consumption is also significantly reduced because the evaporators do not need to be defrosted nearly as much. The positive effects of using an AFIM® Dehumidifying were immediately felt.
Benefits of humidity regulation in the Agristo cold store
The advantage of air drying in a vulnerable climate such as a freezer room or cold storage complex is that it prevents mist, snow or ice from forming and thus makes transport in and out safer and faster. For many companies, too much ice in the evaporators and the constant time-consuming defrosting form the main reason for choosing a solution that works covertly and very reliably. Because so many pallets have to be moved in and out, air drying was the perfect solution for Agristo. Thanks to the new dehumidifier, many litres of moisture are kept out of the freezer room each year and the humidity level is kept steady at the right level. Moreover, the evaporators have to be defrosted much less often, which not only brings practical benefits but also leads to a considerable reduction in energy consumption.
